We love supporting our community of teachers with resources, professional learning and advice to embed local, seasonal and experiential learning for our young people in Wānaka.
Our education team is part of a collaborative group of local environmental educators, including Enviroschools, WAI Wānaka, Otago Regional Council, Wao Summit and many more. This ensures we work effectively and can offer teachers the best advice, equipment and learning available.
This year we have started offering a range of professional learning experiences for teachers, as part of our collaborative work with other educators.
“Experiencing Our Place” offers teachers a chance to visit and connect with a range of local places, during afternoon sessions across the whole year. Each school term we will pick a focus and location and offer multiple sessions, so that hopefully you can attend at least one of the options available.
Locally relevant and age appropriate teaching resources are available to support teacher and student sessions. Sometimes we can also help source equipment and when your school or centre plans a planting project, we will provide the plants! Our educators are always developing more resources and look forward to talking with you about how we can help.
